Hey! As many of you already know, I am volunteering through Project Trust, a charitable gap year organisation, for a year starting in August 2011. I will be going to China, staying in a city called Kuitun in the North-West province of Xinjiang. There I will be working in a secondary school, teaching conversational English to 13-16 year olds for around 18 hours a week.
In my free time, I will be setting up extra curricular activities and helping students develop their English skills. Whilst taking part in, and organising, activities I will be learning about the Chinese culture, religions, language, history and way of life.
I can't wait to try the new foods, see new places and meet lots of interesting people. This next year is going to be packed full of rollercoaster feelings and fantastic experiences. Really loking forward to it all!
